About Us

Founded in 1991, Natural Stone Designs both fabricates and installs natural and engineered stone products. Because we do our fabrication in-house, you can be assured of excellent work and careful quality control. In fact, Natural Stone Designs is accredited by the Marble Institute of America, a rigorous process that guarantees you are working with a safe, competent, and ethical company.

As part of Columbia Stone, we import our own stone from all over the world and maintain an extensive inventory, allowing us to cut out the middleman and pass the savings along to you.

Michael Twiss, President/CEO
Original Founder, Michael Twiss currently serves as President/CEO of both Columbia Stone, Inc. and Natural Stone Designs, Inc. Michael oversees the day to day operations, management and overall success of both companies. With over 30 years in the construction industry, he has utilized his drive and dedication into building two successful construction companies.

Not that being a President/CEO of two companies is enough, Mike has also been elected to the Board of Directors of the Marble Institute of America. He will be representing most of the West Coast throughout his term until 2013. He was also asked to serve as the Treasurer of the Executive Board of Directors for the MIA, for the year 2009.

Jeremy Twiss, General Manager
Growing up in the industry, Jeremy has been around stone all his life. He started working for Natural Stone Designs while still in High School, eventually coming on board full- time after college. Knowing the business inside and out, Jeremy leads the company, often times wearing multiple hats. His invaluable experience has and will continue to lead Natural Stone Designs into the future.

Rob Bacon, Commercial Sales / Estimating
Rob is responsible for researching and estimating all of our commercial projects. Rob started with Columbia Stone in 2004, with multiple years of Project Management experience, most of which were with General Contractors. His approach to estimating is to utilize his competitive nature, knowledge of the industry and tireless drive to find new projects and create new relationships, a combination that has proven quite successful.

Patty Davis, Residential Sales Consultant
From walk-ins to repeat customers, from vanities to kitchens, Patty brings the individual attention of a designer to all of our customers. With years of experience and an uncanny attention to detail, Patty helps our customers find the undeniable beauty of stone with an exceptionally high level of customer service.

Steve Franckiewicz, Production Manager
With over 30 years in the stone industry, Steve has brought with him invaluable work experience. He joined our companies in 2000, and has worked on some of our most prominent projects. As Production Manager, Steve has taken over the shop, ensuring the utmost quality and excellence on all of our projects.
